🔎 What is a Cosmetic Allergen?


A cosmetic allergen is a natural or synthetic substance that can trigger an allergic reaction in sensitive individuals, typically through skin contact. These substances are often found in fragrances or essential oils.
In the European Union, recognized allergens are listed in Annex III of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Labeling becomes mandatory when their concentration exceeds:
  • 0,001 % in leave-on products
  • 0,01 %  in rinse-off products
