This new "specific" guide describes technical advices on the obligations of the BPR for active microorganisms on one hand and on the other biocidal products concerning:
- Their identification and analysis as well as the characterization of their technical and biological properties
- Their effectiveness against target organisms
- Criteria evaluation / conclusions / decision
- The effects on humans and animals
- Effects on non-target organisms and environmental behaviour
Specifically, this guide provides technical advice on the information to submit to the authorities, assessment of exposure and hazard, risk characterization and evaluation of active microorganisms and biocidal products according to Annex II and III of the BPR.
This new document of more than 90 pages, replaces the addendum �Technical Notes for Guidance on data requirements for micro-organisms including viruses and fungi (EU, 2005)� annex to document: Technical Notes for Guidance (TNsG) on Data Requirements (EU, 2008a) in support of Directive 98/8/EC (Biocidal Product Directive - BPD).
