Last call to pre-register your substances under REACH before 31 May 2017!

31/5/2017

Who must pre-register before the 31 May 2017?

You manufacture or import on European soil a chemical substance over one tonne per year? You must register your substance under REACH before the 31st May 2018.

To register before the 31st May 2018, it is required to have pre-registered your substance with ECHA. Many companies fulfilled this task in 2008, but for those that have recently started to manufacture or import substances, late pre-registration is always possible, and required to be able to sell your substances in Europe before the 31 May 2018 deadline.

If you have not yet pre-registered, it isnt too late: you can late pre-register until the 31st May 2017.

On 31st May 2017, its over!

There is only a fortnight left to late pre-register.

If you miss the late pre-registration deadline, you will have to proceed with an Inquiry. Note that Inquiry, as opposed to late pre-registration, isnt free and requires building a substance dossier that will have to be examined by ECHA.

How to conduct a late pre-registration?

Late pre-registration is submitted online via REACH-IT. When you submit a late pre-registration, if you have used the same substance name or chemical identifier such as the EINECS or CAS number, REACH-IT will automatically place you in the same pre-SIEF (pre-Substance Information Exchange Forum), enabling you to identify the other companies possibly using the same substance.

More information is available on ECHA's website.
